It Is Hot In the Desert
... and in other news, the sky is still blue.
I know this is the desert and everything, but I had kind of hoped to avoid feeling too much of the heat before I go home next month. Unfortunately, no such luck. The temperature is going to climb up into the mid 90s today, and will most likely pop 100 a couple of times later this week. I guess I shouldn't complain, ..read more
Burn Baby Burn
Paper does not go in the trash over here. Whenever we're done with it, it goes in a box under the desk, and when the box is full, we take it out to the barrel and burn it. This happens about once every couple of weeks. Dave, our mid-shift forecaster, usually takes care of it. Last night, he was out there at the burn barrel for nearly an hour (the ..read more
Totally Tubular
Nothing profound to say tonight. I got too caught up watching the coverage of the Hawaii tsunami to come up with a good blog post. I was driving one of my guys back to his room after his shift was over. About half way ..read more
Spring Comes Early In Iraq
I noticed we have a lot more birds flying around the past couple of days; Spring must be almost here. Actually, it kind of already is. The high temperature has gotten up in the 80s for the past two days, and is even forecast to climb into the low 90s by the middle of the week. I had to turn on my air conditioner.
I can't say that I'm terribly disappointed about ..read more
