    I would venture to say that Pete was simply trusting his instincts – and most likely his natural instinct to want to play! I think getting him a “canine” playmate would be a great solution. I have a Jack Russell mix that used to go after anything that moved in the backyard. Since I adopted a second dog, that behavior is history!

    I don't know about all this “play” business. I do think it was instinct… The instinct to hunt. We must remember that dogs are animals.
